Pathway is a Java-based application for EPOC32 machines (e.g., Psion Series 5mx or 7) that provides a visual way to ping nodes or to trace routes to machines on the Internet or your local network.  It has the ability to ping or traceroute, to repeatedly probe the network on a timed basis, and to analyze timing information through a pluggable interface.

Pathway's Features

Pathway has the following features:
  • Internet nodes can be pinged or have their routes traced in a visual manner
  • timing and IP information are displayed for each node
  • SNMP and WHOIS domain information is easy to obtain for nodes -- a double tap retrieves the information
  • pings or traceroutes can be repeated in a timed loop
  • timing information can be fed to plug-ins, which are Java classes supplied by the user

Pathway can be used on all EPOC platforms that have the Java virtual machine installed.

There are some screen snapshots of Pathway here for you to review.

What are the System Requirements for Pathway?

Pathway requires a computer running EPOC 32 -- a Psion Series 5mx or 7 or a MC 218 -- with the Java virtual machine installed.  It uses about 80 KBytes of memory.
